How WiFi QR codes work
A WiFi QR code encodes your network name (SSID), password, and security type in the standard WIFI: format that iPhone and Android cameras understand natively. Scanning it prompts the phone to join the network: no password typing, no app to install.
This generator supports WPA, WPA2, and WPA3 networks as well as WEP and open networks, including hidden SSIDs. Everything runs in your browser: your credentials are encoded locally into the image and never sent to our servers, so the code is safe to create even for a private network.
